Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, Now Open for Booking! |
Aulani is indeed a place where ancestral stories are told, built with the nobility, beauty and grandeur of Paradise.
Aulani is relaxed yet regal with detailed touches of Disney magic. The white sandy beach, tropical gardens, turquoise lagoons and sparkling waterfalls are just a few highlights of this balmy paradise. Inside the Resort, lava rock rises up through the floor of the grand lobby as dual pools of water cross the expanse: one gently flows with lilies while the other rushes wildly through. This Hawaiian philosophy of balance - bright and shadowy, brisk and slow, delicate and coarse - resonates deeply throughout the resort. It reflects not only the nature of the islands, but the spirit of its people.
Add to this the exhilarating enchantment of Disney through its family entertainment and recreation, and you'll find a world of fun at your fingertips!

Your Favorite Cruise Lines Renovate Private Islands |
Let's say for a minute that cruise line private islands are like houses -- and that Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America and Norwegian Cruise Line have all planned renovations to their beachfront properties. If so, we could say Holland America's Half Moon Cay has an improved flow and a few new decorative flourishes, Disney's Castaway Cay is in the midst of a remodeling with several impressive additions, and NCL is transforming a modest cottage into a modern mansion. As for Royal Caribbean's private beach, Labadee, this secluded peninsula on Haiti's north coast received an extreme makeover, and the makeover began with a dock.
The four aforementioned cruise lines are in various stages of improving their private island retreats -- from just starting to already finished. New additions range from private cabanas to exhilarating rides and water play areas, as well as expanded beach areas. Whether the island renovations are being made to accommodate big new ships or add unique ways to explore, the changes will give first timers and repeat cruisers a new and improved taste of island life -- and a reason to return on a future cruise.
Here's what you can expect to find on upcoming private island calls.

Remy: Premier Dining on Disney Dream |
In an exquisite, top-deck restaurant with incredible ocean views, Disney Cruise Line® debuts Remy – its first-ever premier dining option. With French-inspired, gourmet cuisine by two award-winning chefs, Remy melds classic and contemporary styles in a sophisticated dining concept exclusively for adults on the new Disney Dream™.
Chef Arnaud Lallement from l’Assiette Champenoise, a Michelin two-star restaurant just outside Reims, France, and Chef Scott Hunnel from award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World® Resort, are collaborating to create a French-inspired menu featuring superior products and seasonal ingredients sourced from around the world. French-trained Chef Patrick Albert, executive chef for Remy, oversees an all-star culinary team.
When dining at Remy, you will enjoy a lavish and leisurely affair, starting with a signature chilled Champagne cocktail made tableside, followed by eight to nine small courses complemented by a stellar wine list. Lallement’s cuisine is simple and stylish, such as roasted lobster with cream, and fresh asparagus with black truffles and vin jaune. It earns l’Assiette Champenoise two stars (of a possible three) from Michelin, making the experience “excellent cooking and worth a detour.” Hunnel’s innovative dishes offer small tastes of everything from wild caviar to Kobe beef and Japanese Wagyu strip loin. His cuisine earns Victoria & Albert’s the coveted AAA Five Diamonds, a rating accorded a mere 0.19 percent of restaurants in North America and the Caribbean.
